About
Krupa Playforth, M.D.
Having children completely changed my approach to Pediatric Medicine. As a board-certified pediatrician, I began my parenting journey with a “one size fits all” approach and very quickly recognized that parenting is rarely this simple. As a Type A, rule-following, admittedly anxious mama, it was hard to accept that that there are many approaches to solving the same parenting problems.
My hope is to bring some of this perspective, along with evidence-based recommendations, to help equip other parents to more confidently navigate the complexities of raising tiny people.
In today’s connected, internet-dependent world it is easy to become overwhelmed by information overload. You can use The Pediatrician Mom to find some peace, some answers, and hopefully some confidence to trust your gut as a parent as we explore some of the common questions and issues that come up again and again: What is the deal with sleep training anyway? Baby-led weaning or purees? How do I figure out if my teenager has anxiety? How can I optimize my child’s nutrition and health?
Please feel free to reach out to me with comments, thoughts and suggestions.
